|

Since yesterday's "emerge -u world", everything seems to be broken, here's some sample output:
$ emerge -s gcc
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/emerge", line 2, in ?
import os,sys,portage,xpak,string,re,commands,time,threading,shutil
File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/portage.py", line 84, in ?
starttime=int(time.time())
OverflowError: float too large to convert
If I alter that line to omit the time() call, things just break in another spot with a similar call. I've done the README.RESCUE thing for portage - but the problem just moves a bit and comes back again later.
Also, kdebase fails to build now. Last big change I can remember, was that gcc went to 3.2.1.
Output from emerge --version is:
Portage 2.0.44 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2.1, glibc-2.2.5-r4,2.3.1-r2)
How do I get things back on track? |

Bingo! - thx for the pointer.
I'll need to figure out how to rebuild glibc, but it's at least shedding some light on this... |
