I have:
xine-ui 0.9.13
xine-dvdnav 0.9.13
xine-d5d 0.2.7-r1
ogle 0.8.5
ogle-gui 0.8.5
alsa-lib 0.9.0_r6
alsa-driver 0.9.0_r6
When I pop in a DVD (Fellowship of the Ring, for example), I can get about 4 seconds out of xine and then I get an error: Code: | audio_out: inserting 4395 0-frames to fill a gap of 8244 pts
demux_mpeg_block: error! 01 ba 44 (should be 0x000001)
demux_mpeg_block: error! 01 ba 44 (should be 0x000001)
demux_mpeg_block: error! 01 ba 44 (should be 0x000001)
demux_mpeg_block: error! 01 ba 44 (should be 0x000001)
demux_mpeg_block: error! 01 ba 44 (should be 0x000001)
demux_mpeg_block: error! 01 ba 44 (should be 0x000001)
demux_mpeg_block: too many errors, stopping playback. Maybe this stream is scrambled?
audio_out: stopping thread...
libmpeg2: blasting out current frame on close
audio_out: thread stopped, closing driver
xine_stop
audio_oss_out: AO_CTRL_FLUSH_BUFFERS
audio_oss_out: AO_CTRL_PLAY_RESUME
xine_stop: stopping demuxer
demux_mpeg_block: stop...ignored
xine_stop: stopped demuxer | and video playback stops as it says. (This is when I use the d5d button). If I use the "NAV" button, I get similar results. If I click "next" fast enough, I can skip to the first menu, but when I select any of the options the ensuing playback lasts for about 2 seconds and freezes.
Ogle, which seems to be the alternative that can support navigation, gives me this error when I try to open a disc: Code: | Note[ogle_audio]: Using audio driver 'alsa'

What gives? 2 separate issues, probably, but soolving either one would be nice.
PS- It's not the DVD as this also happens with other discs |

It's something with your programs talking to alsa. Does sound work with anything else? Can you try OSS? |

How do I tell these programs to use different sound systems? |
