spd thinks there are a few gentoo people in cambridge, so we're going to have a meet on Thursday 4th in the Eagle at 7:30. You'll probably be able to spot us, me and spd will be there, pop by and see who else turns up!
mods: could you sticky this, else it'll drop off the end of the board, only for 2 weeks. Thanks!
Mod Edit: stickified - tomk
Mod Edit(2): unstickified - plate _________________ 95% of all computer errors occur between chair and keyboard (TM)

And yeah, we'll probably decide based on the number of people who turn up to this one whether or not to arrange any more. I reckon there should be enough of us around to make it worthwhile, so there's no excuse. |

I reckon you're about right on the time to get there. But after a few pints, perhaps a bit longer on the way back! |

you can get the number 1 bus into the city centre from the station. its around the area of number 36 on http://www.cam.ac.uk/map/v3/drawmap.cgi?mp=main;xx=1900;yy=1040;gf=png. We can meet at the bus station if people dont know the way _________________ 95% of all computer errors occur between chair and keyboard (TM)

It usually takes me about 20 minutes to get to city centre from railway station.
I am going to be there as well.

I'll be wearing a tshirt with an apple on it, dunno everyone else.
Anyone who doesnt know the way, get the number 1,3 or 7 bus from the train station to the city centre, get off next to the big roadwork wooden thing on the right and we can meet you there. _________________ 95% of all computer errors occur between chair and keyboard (TM)

Argh - I'd love to come along, but I'll be on holiday next week. Have a good one guys; I hope there will be another one. Ironically, I'm missing the Cambridge LUG pub meeting too. Talk about bad timing.... _________________ ------------------------------------------

I'm at Wadham, doing computer science (I'm a "first year", but last year I was a first year physicist - wonder what degree I'll be doing this time next year )
If there's ever another Cambridge meetup, how about having it at a weekend? _________________ the forums.gentoo.org poster formally known as metal leper |

Dude, I'm a second year Engineering and Computer Science student so I go to some first year Comp Sci lecture courses. I've probably been in the same room as you sometime in the past week. Assuming of course you turn up to 9/10am lectures (I've binned a few...). I do the Discrete Maths and Functional Programming courses. |

i'm in letchworth .. i don't recall st albans being on the line to cambridge. however i think it may be a good idea for all people travelling by train to meet up at the train station at a certain time? will anyone else be coming on the train? _________________ http://dev.gentoo.org/~dsd |

If there are people coming in on the train that don't know their way around, I could meet them at the station if that's reckoned to be helpful. |

I'm far from a developer or a guru, but I'd love to sit down with you guys. I have three months to spend here in the UK and little to do. It's a bit of a drive, but I'm quite sure I could make it. That is if you don't mind the company of a newbie american. |
