Do you have a wheel mouse, or a three button mouse?

If not, you've probably got 3 button mouse emulation defined in XF86Config-4. My guess is that you've got weaponnext bound to the middle button click.

Code:
cat /etc/X11/XF86Config|grep Emulate3Buttons
cat /etc/X11/XF86Config|grep Chord

What does that give?
