This is really driving me nuts.
If I issue a shutdown command, restart command, or hell just try to init 0 the blade emits a loud continuous console beep and freezes. I have to power off the box.
Anybody seen this? |

When I issue a shutdown command using the same kernel version, it seems to issue continuous returns in the terminal, and the entire machine locks except for the scrolling terminal. No beeping as you describe, however I also have to power off.
I'm on an HP (P3). |

I haven't noticed this problem on my Blade 100, but then again I'm not sure it isn't locked up before I've tried to reboot or halt it. If you are going to do any serious compilations (like KDE), I'd suggest sticking with kernel 2.6.6. That's proven to be pretty stable for me on the Blade. |

I'm seeing the same problem and it occurs at shutting down the
network stack.
This doesn't happen with a 2.4.26 or 2.4.27 kernel
Do you have a tg3 NIC?
I tried the broadcom driver bcm5700 and the same thing happens. |

I have a similaire problem on an HP laptop. With the 2.6.4 kernel I can shutdown or reboot, however with anything later than that (2.6.7 or 2.6. the system locks up @ "remounting filesystems read only". How this is odd since before it, it says, "Shutting down hda" and "Halt" (only then does it try unmounting the file systems) _________________ --Mac
