when I try to mount an NFS filesystem it takes forever, it does mount in the end, but why does it take so long??
Code: | bash# mount server:/export /serverexport -t nfs |
any ideas anyone?
doesn't take that long with SuSE..
something wrong with my network settings methinks.. _________________ loz |

check to make sure you have portmap installed/started. /etc/init.d/portmap status. this is just a guess, but i have the same problems with NFS if i don't start portmap first. _________________ System: Thinkpad T30, P4-m 1.8GHz, 1024MB RAM

Just to clarify, that's portmap must be running on the client machine also. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
