when I try to mount an NFS filesystem it takes forever, it does mount in the end, but why does it take so long??

Code:
bash# mount server:/export /serverexport -t nfs

any ideas anyone?

doesn't take that long with SuSE..

something wrong with my network settings methinks..

check to make sure you have portmap installed/started. /etc/init.d/portmap status. this is just a guess, but i have the same problems with NFS if i don't start portmap first.
