Well I've installed 1.2 about 20 times. Just now I try to do a emerge system, I get a whole bunch of python errors, like emerge is broken.
Everytime I re-do it I can duplicate the problem.
I cant install 1.4 because they do not include the tulip module in their build (maybe I should add it).
I read another post saying they used a emerge-rescue tool I cant seem to find this, do you guys have any ideas? (i cant run bootstrap.sh yet, so thats where i am in the install) |

According to network drivers on livecd-ut2003-1.4.1, the tulip drivers are built straight into the livecd kernel, so there should be no tulip module, nor any need for one. Second, you don't need to install 1.2 just for this: you can use the 1.2 CD and then substitute a 1.4rc1 stage tarball when you get to that step, and you can go straight to 1.4rc1. Third, look in /usr/portage/sys-apps/portage/files after an "emerge rsync", and seek a portage-rescue tarball appropriate for your architecture, and unpack it across your / directory. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
