Hi,
Up until now ogle has worked fine and plays dvds after making the symlink to /dev/cdroms/cdromx where x is the dvd drive. But today I tried playing a dvd that worked the other day, I get a new error message before ogle dies:
sh-2.05a$ ogle

ogle invokes the gui which I then usually just press open dvd from the menu. Now I get this and I am stumped, especially since it was literally just working yesterday. I tried searching the forums to see if anyone else had this problem, but it was all about not having the symlink /dev/dvd installed. I can still mount the dvd and look at the files inside, and even trying to open the specific file its looking for doesn't help. I'm stumped. Any ideas?
Thanks

Well first off make sure you have all the correct libraries installed. (you probably do i assume)
I had the same problem, and the only thing that fixed it was to use scsi emulation. I appended 'hdc=ide-scsi' in menu.lst. And changed the dvd entry in devfsd.conf to point to the correct cdrom in '/dev/cdroms/'.
This won't be difficult if you have scsi, scsi emulation and all related modules compiled in your kernel.
Anyway, worth a shot. Good luck. |
