Distcc between AMD64 and PPC - possible?

I have an AMD64 desktop machine and an iBook G4. Since the iBook is not really fast when it comes to compiling, I was wondering, is it possible at all (without too much hassle) to set up distcc between both machines to let my AMD64 help the iBook when it has to emerge something? If not, any other ideas on how to speed up things on the iBook (besides buying a PowerBook ;-)

You probably need cross-compiling. Last time i worked with it, i used corssdev, which appears to be deprecated now. I would start readinf from http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/distcc.xml#doc_chap3.
