I am trying to get the DynamicClocks option for the xorg radon driver working. However with the option set to "on" the laptop (D600) hangs upon changing vt (Ctrl+Alt+Fx) and a Hard Rrset is required.

Any Ideas?

Thanks.

The logs show nothing.

This is a description of the driver options http://freedesktop.org/~xorg/X11R6.8.0/doc/radeon.4.html

yeah that usually happens if you use fglrx in combination with the radeon frame buffer ... switch to vesa or vesa-tng in the kernel and remove the radeon framebuffer driver.

I am not using fglrx nor am I using the radeon framebuffer. I am using the vesafb-tng patch and the xorg "radeon" driver.

The hard lock only occurs when Option "DynamicClocks" "on" is set in the xorg.conf file.

Thanks

Wierd it works fine with radeonfb but not vesafb or vesafb-tng. maybe because radeonfb is aware of the power management features of the card?
