I have a pretty stock Dell Inspiron 4000 (built in NIC, ATI Rage Mobility, Celeron 600) The LiveCD is the latest version, from ibiblio. I have two questions regarding the Gentoo installation process
1) I downloaded, burned and booted up the LiveCD. PCI-Setup does not find anything at all ... neither my sound (maestro3) or the NIC (eepro100) I found the maestro3 module on the LiveCD but not the eepro module. I also have a wireless card. Since I need the networking, is there a way to use a wireless PCMCIA card, then later configure the internal NIC once the system is built?
2) I want to dual boot Gentoo with Mandrake. I've set up GRUB to boot into Mandrake. How would I set up the system so that it could also boot Gentoo (the reason for this is I want to share my home, tmp and swap partitions between the two so whichever one I am working in I have access to my personal files) |
