I bought me a nice new small 160 GB hard drive and copied everything to it via:
# cp -rvpx / /mnt/ide
Ok, so here is my problem. Everything boots up fine until the kernel loads. When it would normally load the initial console and start spitting out bringing up bla bla such as
bringing up eth0 [OK]
it now puts
Warning: Unable to open an initial console
Adding 1959920K swap on /dev/hda2 Priority:-1 extents: 1
After which it waits a few seconds, about the time it is normally displaying the other stuff it currently isn't, and then offers me a login prompt.
Past that everything works perfectly.
Obviously I missed something and was hoping one of you could tell me what. I don't want to reboot one day to find it will not start as some side effect.
Thanks,
