Hi guys (and gals, I guess) --
I'm not sure if this is a SPARC-specific problem or not, but every five minutes, I get the following lines on my screen:
Code: |
INIT: Id "c1" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c2" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c3" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c4" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c6" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c5" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c1" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c2" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c3" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c4" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c5" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: Id "c6" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes

Any ideas what's going on (or to where I should direct my question)? And, more importantly, how to fix?
Thanks,
chris. |

Hm, could be several problems.
Are you using a serial console? Then comment out all references to c1-c6 in /etc/inittab. If not, maybe you forgot to include VT_CONSOLE support or related options when recompiling your kernel? Of course there might be other problems (once had a damaged glibc, causing errors in bash and login )
HTH
