I would like to dual boot. Before i was running linux 24/7 but i have devices that are not supported so i installed windows.
Now to dual boot how would i know what partitions are unused so i can use that?
i have a 80 gb hd and i have 1 20 gb ntfs and one 40 gb fat32 now the rest is unpartitioned.
I need to know the par num or whatever of the ones that are not so i can make partitions for my new install.

Boot to the Gentoo 1.4_rc1 live CD and run "cfdisk". That will show you how your hard drive is currently divvied up. It will also allow you to partition out the remaining 20GB of space on your HD however you see fit.
