Moin zusammen,

bin gerade über das kgcc64-Ebuild gestolpert und mich gefragt wozu das Dingen gut ist.

Das sagt mir nicht wirklich viel. Vor allem nicht welche Vorteile ich habe, wenn ich damit meinen Kernel baue.
Wikipedia weiß über das Programm auch nichts und selbst eine Suche auf gcc.gnu.org war erfolglos.

Könnt ihr Licht ins Dunkle bringen?

z.B. die SPARC und HPPA Architekturen nutzen einen 64bit-Kernel mit einem 32bit-Userland (SPARC zwingend, HPPA optional). Um auf diesen Systemen einen 64bit-Kernel zu bauen ist ein 64bit-Compiler (kgcc64) notwendig.
