Truetype Fonts

I've got my fonts in KDE all set to Verdana and some pages produce a weird text formatting with boxes as shown in the screenshot below...

It only seems to effect links...not regular text. If I set my fonts to Tahoma, then all fonts everywhere show as the boxes.

I'm running Xfree 4.2.1, KDE 3.1rc2

How many of the links returned when you searched here for "Truetype" have you looked at? There are lots, and I suspect one or more might help you.

My guess is that UTF-8 is not enabled in your kernel. Just a guess.

I compiled in support for UTF-8, and it hasn't changed. It appears to be my tahoma font that causes the problem. The Style-sheet from the site is looking for tahoma. Tahoma is the only font I can get to show up as the boxes.... Anyony have any clues?

Hmm, don't know. That looks like konqueror, can you select a different font? Does Tahoma work in other apps?
