Ok, for whatever reason, portage still uses ALLL of the possible USE flags although i have removed every instance of USE= and the use.defaults file. Is there anywhere else i have overlooked?? i am trying to remove support for several items and -item simply does not work.
2) Gnome-libs do not compile because it is looking for some header file that isnt installed. it needs this header file because of a USE flag, NLS, which doing USE="-nsl" emerge gnome-libs doesnt work (as suggested in the docs)
3) gettext is the package that is sopposed to provide the libintl.h header, but in fact NO headers are isntalled in /usr/include
i would of searched the bug database, but bugzilla is almost un-usable to someone who has never used it before.
I asked in IRC., but i must of been on ignore when i said `help' or something.
this is the last hope for gentoo running on my machine. |
