Just noticed this... whenever I hit or release a key on my (PS2) keyboard, I hear a quiet buzz-click from my speakers (connected to my onboard Abit NF7 nForceII soundcard). Muting the alsa channels does not make it go away. Turning my speakers off or muting them does make it go away. And finally, it has auto-repeat: Holding any key down (including modifier keys such as shift or alt) makes it click once, delay for a moment, and then start rapidly clicking . This is very annoying while alt-dragging to move a window. Any ideas?

I think it is to do with power bleed.
Try routing the cables away from each other in completely opposite directions.

Hope it helps,

Jax

tactless,

Turn the key click off in your desktop manager.
It may be called audio feedback or something like that.

Heh, yeah I get this too. Sometimes it happens when I scroll the mouse wheel.
Due to poor quality consumer electronics :-( Companies aren't willing to spend loads on shielding all their internal cables and so on, and so you get that sort of interference. At least, I think thats why it happens.

Okay, looks like it was the external cables... moving them away from each other worked. Thanks :)
