Anyone seen the movie yet?
If not, are you? Why? Why not?

I wasn't impressed with the original novel by William Peter Blatty, and the only good thing about the original Exorcist film was Mike Oldfield's music. And horror movies don't do it for me any more.

Alot of critics gave this movie only one star, and the movie was not realsed for the critics before the public release. After seeing the movie, I agreed with the critics, this was not a good movie.

The novel sucked, heh.

I have about as much interest in this as I do a crazed proctologist dressed in a grizzly bear suit. Which is to say a little, but not much.

I have a projectionist/director/horror freak friend that gave me a heads up on this new Exorcist.

2 versions of this 'episode' were made before this one was released. The original one was completely finished but the studio didn't like it so they recasted completely and the end product was the crap that was released last week.

I just hope they release that other version of DVD or something. This one disgusted me (in terms of being disappointed). I guess real monsters are being replaced by CGI. Too much CGI ruins good movies, imo.

I haven't seen it yet, but I have the remastered DVD of the original with the extra footage at the beginning. It shows the old man in Iraq finding the little statue.

But as you all know, prequels are the cash cow these days.

The Exorcist: The Beginning actually had 3 directors and a bunch of other issues. The first director died before production could begin. The second director made a hack job movie and it was scrapped. They fired him, and the entire cast except the priest. They went with the production from the third director. I hear the dvd release is supposed to contain both movies from both directors.

The movie was bad, horrible in general. Just a few good special effects else it was crap.

The last line in the review pretty much explains what I thought was the worst part of this movie.
