|
Hi,
Im trying to install gnome, but I have a little problem with the compiling of gtk+ (2.4.7) . I have installed Xorg-x11-6.7.0-r2 and pango...
I get this error message during the configure
Code: | configure error: Pango 1.2.0 and Xft backends is requierd for X11 targets |
I think it is the Xft backends thats causing the problems. As mentiond earlier, I have installed xorg. I tougth Xft came with xorg, dosent it?

I've got this problem too. I'm using the CVS version of Xorg. I'm pretty sure it has Xft. |

Okay now I'm getting Pango and Xft problems for other packages like LogJam too. What the hell is going on here? |

Got it. I'm not sure if this will apply to you but it fixed it for me. Xorg CVS installed pkgconfig files to /usr/X11R6/lib/pkgconfig and not to /usr/lib/pkgconfig where all the others seem to be. I moved them and made a symlink to fix this. However I think you can also use a PKG_CONFIG environment variable and perhaps you can set more than one folder? I probably should have done that but by the time I thought of it, I'd already moved the files and I can't remember which ones I moved. Next time I update Xorg CVS, I'll try doing it that way instead. |
