Cygns Xwin & XDMCP & german keyboard

Hi,

I'm trying to connect from my Children's W98 machine with 'Xwin :0 -query ip) (XDMCP) to my Linux Box running KDM.
The connection is estabilshed, but I would like to have german keyboard support even at login time (because of german letters in userid/pw).

I have tried to put 'xmodmap /etc/X11/xmodmap.de' almost everywhere, but I still can't find the reight place.

To support german keyboard after login, I have inserted the xmodmap at /etc/profile and get this part working.

Trying to add xmodmap to XSetup on my (old) SuSE box works even fine.
Does anybody where to set german keybord for (remote) login. Local login with german keyboard is working well.
