Ok.. So I read the install guide for the "virtual mailhosting system with postfix" (http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/virt-mail-howto.xml), and I went through step by step. Of course this was silly, since after I finished configuring postfix, I really could've stopped and just used mutt. Things would've been nice and simple. however, since I never like to leave well enough alone, I compelted the rest of the steps in the guide in hopes taht it would make future adding of users (personal mailsystem, however I might set up future mailboxes) a breeze.
However, basically, with ANY combonation of addresses, etc for evolution (127, localhost, 192, rami.homelinux.com) I always get the prompt for the password, which I enter, and it doesn't authenticate me. It just asks for it again >_<

^^ See. Mutt used to display mail perfectly fine, but I wanted a GUI. Right now, I'm stuck and I don't know what's broken. The mysql database for mailsql is here: (of course, I cleverly covered -my- password with an Eterm window)

The first two were defaults, and I don't care about thier passwords. In fact, if you can get the email from those accounts, it would be a PLEASURE to know something was working
I have nfi where to go from here, or where to start looking. Any help very, very much appreciated.

read the code listing 7.3 and chapter 9 "The vmail user". If you setup for virtual domain, the 'uid' and 'gid' come from the 'vmail' user. |
