Is there anything else that resembles Windows Media Player Classic? I had Totem before when I used Gnome and that worked pretty well but now I'm running on Fluxbox (Totem asks me to emerge the whole Gnome package... ugh).
I just emerged xine and don't really like the way that it looks nor functions. The one thing I did like however is that it supports all my divx and xvid stuff right off the bat. |

Ok, does mplayer function the same as Window Media Player Classic or does it still have the video window and controls window seperate?
Also, if I emerge mplayer will it auto include the stuff I need for divx and xvid?
Thanks |

Yes should do
Give it a try, emerge -p mplayer .... should have your codecs listed too.
Don't forget to have alsa in your use flags if you use alsa, and gtk USE flag gives you the gtk gui. _________________ Tyan Tiger K8W, 2xOpteron 240,Powerbook5,6 15" 1.5g, Macbook Black 2g, Mac Mini 1g, Ipod P60g.

Kaffeine is an excellent GUI media player, much better than (g)mplayer, standard xine, vlc. All DVD menus I've tried have worked in Kaffeine, and video files dont mess up like they do in gmplayer, but I do occasionally have to use gmplayer for some videos that are in rm format. |

Thanks, I just tried Kaffeine it rocks! Are there any other programs that support DVD menus? I've heard of Ogle, but I haven't tried it yet.
