i had tried doing modifications in the security guide's firewall but it didn't work..........yahoo uses 5050 to connect but oprning just that didn't help :( .....but i don't think it is not possible

A simpel tipp:

# emerge iptraf

then execute it, and look for incomming and outgoing Packets, witch are not routed by your router.
