I currently have XF86Config set to use resolutions from 1280X1024 to 640x480. I was hoping that when I hit <ctrl><alt> +/- that kde would automatically fit the desktop and taskbar to the new screen and increase the size of windows. However this is not the case, instead it just zooms in and allows you to move around the screen.

Is there a way to make it, dare I say it, like MS Windows? So that when I zoom in the desktop and taskbar are still fit to screen size?

Alternatively, is there a way to set a default resolution for each user?

The reason I want to do this is that I personally like a high resolution (small font) display, yet other users find this difficult to read.
