I have VMWare 3.1.1 on CD and I would like to install it. If I just click on the excutable icon in KDE 3 nothing happens. Are there separet versions of VMware that install with Linux and Windows?

there is also an ebuild for vmware
Code: |
emerge vmware-workstation
|
and then just enter your license key, when you are asked for it.

Try typing '. /etc/profile', then typing 'vmware', it should work. _________________ open like a child's mind. |

Ok I have emerged VM Ware and I have figured out the command. I typed "./opt/vmware/bin/vmware" I got a message to first run vmware-config.pl. So I tried to run it. It gave me an eror saying that I have to first read and agree to the End User License Agreement. In the agreement it says to select the YES or No buttons at the bottom of the document. THESE BUTTONS DO NOT EXIST. After I got to the bottom of the agreement I could not get out of it. I had to close the eterm window and open a new one just to find myself in the same place after following the instructions again. How do I agree to the agreement so I can start VMWare.

I am guessing you are joking......
if not... Try typing the word "yes" or "no", depending on which way you want to answer the agreement. You will have to use your keyboard for this. (The piece of equiptment with about 100 buttons on it sitting in front of you). |

If that had worked I would have never posted the question! This is my first time with Linux, If you don't have something informative or constructive to say then don't say it. Otherwise, BITE ME! |

When you get to the (END) of the EULA, press q. Then you can type yes or no, depending on if you want to accept or reject the agreement.
Shall I bite you now? I won't be gentle. |
