OK, I have gotten KDE to download and build just fine. How do I start it? I can't find the command for KDE. Also, I am using Window Maker, when I select Applications => X File Manager. I get an error that says "could not execute command: exec xfm" I have tried to do an "emerge xfm" but there is no package for xfm. Is there another name for the program that I have to use to emerge it?

First question, put
Code:

startkde

in your .xinitrc and then start it using
Code:

startx
.

Second question, I dunno because I do not use window maker. Sorry.

I just used the startkde comand, how cool!!!.

Can I have XSESSION=startx and startkde to have them both start at the same time on boot up or can I only have on and then start the other with an XTerm?

Thanks

Scott

Thanks! Thats what I needed after an "emerge --update world" today resulted in startx not bringing up kde anymore - despite "XSESSION=kde-3.0.4" being in rc.conf - which used to be enough.
