Markrian, I don't "think" I have a few symptoms, I know I do. I also know that self-diagnosis is a fool's game, and never take a self-diagnosis seriously. And, since I'm capable of earning my living, I'm not sick.

Ah, I didn't mean to put the word 'think' in that sentence at all. Remove, re-read.

BTW, I wasn't implying you weren't aware of the problems with self-diagnosis. I was simply voicing my experience/knowledge in a general way. Unforuntely, some of my family members seem obsessed with attributing their various peculiarities to documented ailments/syndromes/diseases, and it's a sad thing to see.

I wish my german was better, then I could understand your link more.

However going off what I did understand, I don't think we can call this world a good or a bad place as we don't know what's outside of it. We don't live in a vacuum, so we can't judge. I try and stay neutral on it, my main thought being that it's the best I've got. I'd be naive to write it off as what's outside of it (if anything) may be even worse. Self pity is a slippery slope.

However if you're interested in pursuing that line of thought The Human Evasion by Celia Green might be of interest

Nothing's wrong with me

Though I'm sure there are people out there who would be less than impressed with my crossdressing. My other particularly abnormal quality is that I have a relatively strong sense of empathy, and as a result I am the second person my girlfriend's cat has ever completely trusted.

It's a Song by "Böhse Onkelz", a german hooligan band (no, they are not nazis) which whines about the world being such a dark, dishonest place and people being unimportant and senseless. The only interesting is, they themselves say in the refrain, that this world is a dark place because you make it dark by yourself. Don' know if they think that's great or dumb. I think it's dumb, as all of their songs are :-)

I'm special because i rumble people (is that correct english?).
Boon and bane at a time.

rgds,

Malte.

Ah, thanks for the explanation. I don't agree with them, but I think it's good people look at things in a different way to what's "normal"

That looks like good english to me, I understand it as a variation on Nietzsche's "I am dynamite".

Rumble has many different meanings (English is so complicated!). It can mean to find a hidden truth, to show something for what it really is "The DoJ rumbled M$". It can also be taken to mean fight, as in "WWF Royal Rumble". It could also mean a sounds as in " I'm hungry, my stomach is rumbling". It has even more meanings, but those are the main ones. Sorry if that explanation was a bit patronising :)

Yes. They have done their job in german music scene.

Ooops, never read Nietzsche, still got to complete Spinoza and Plotin ;-)

That's what i had in mind. Is there a better word for that? In my dictionary it is marked as "British english, slang" :-)

Malte.

#1. Near-sighted
#2. Pectus Excavatum (see Tun's link)
#3. Migrains

And since I'm just 21 (22 this summer) I've got plenty of time to add things to this list...

I did Explosive Ordnance Disposal training in the norwegian airforce (so I'm obviously insane), and one of my troop colleagues actually said (translated):
Quote:
I'm the only normal person of us.
I think that sentence proves that there were NO normal people in the troop (we were only nine, smallest troop on the airbase).

Oh and my ribs are deformed on the right side (seems rib-things are popular).

All of my abnormalities are in areas in which they are beneficial. My family has had a long tradition of selective breeding.

I guess I'm abnormally intelligent for my age. That seems to be the case for most people around here though. Other than that nothing really different about me, except my gauged ears maybe (0 gague in both ears).

If I were to base how normal I am based on the entertainment world (like reality TV (I shiver at the word), and other things that the news media seem to think are important, like huge displays of competition a.k.a. The Superbowl) then I am extremely abnormal.

EDIT: Embarrassing indoctrinated speech remitted.

I have a purple dragon in my basement but no one believes me... =( I also get random spasms all over. My eyes lids, ears, biceps.. It's really weird, but oh well.

Oh. I'm also queer which seems to be an abnormality to most of humanity.

sweet, a 2 year old thread!

8O

Me, I'm normal.

I shake all the time, well, most of the time. Like I have parkinsons or something. My brother is worse though, so I think it's okay.

I am allergic to pennicilin or other similar drugs. And cats. Very bad with cats.

My shoulder is fucked up, hurts all the time. Same with my knees, and knuckles and, well most joints.

I hear things that are not there a lot. But that's because I'm insane.

I think I may suffer from a mild form of autism. My family thinks so as well, and since they work in the medical field, there's got to be something about it. :P

Sadly lots.

I suffer from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (just look at my sig. I'm literally obssesed with stoping that (check after next mount) thing..)

I'm also bi-polar and depressed..

So along with obsessing over little things no one else would notice.

I snap at them at a whim and feel awful about myself..

:?

You do take meds for your depression right? I've seen what depression can do to people and it's not pretty. That knot in your gut for no reason has got to suck.. Man, that sucks... =(

Sadly no.

While I love my mother.. she's a bit of a religious fruit loop who thinks depression is me being "out of god's will"..

I have nothing against people worshipping god or anything but when it affects my physical or mental health.. I get upset.
