Ancient thread, but still

- I'm left-handed
- I'm overweight (although that's becoming a norm these days)
- I have split upper lip (since birth. Though it has been fixed with surgery, but you can still see it somewhat)

Let's see... I've got issues with authority, I lack empathy, I'm somewhat of a schizoid personality, and I have a short fucking fuse when dealing with just about everybody but my immediate family and fiancee. I hate dogs and little children. I'm also left-handed, near-sighted, and I have an incorrigible sweet tooth.

In a sentence:
A "light" form of autism that doesn't make you a vegetable, but just impairs your social skills and ability to percieve your environment correctly.
It's much more complicated than that though, but here's a good list of the symptoms: http://myweb.usf.edu/~begeiger/as-symptoms.html
(red==symptoms, blue==counter symptoms)

Nothing wrong with that, just something that is different from the norm

Oh well better do my Homework. :)

Heh, me too!
I was actually going to attempt to do this project I'm in the middle of doing (which is due in about an hour and a half) during the weekend, but crap came up and I forgot about it until.. about 8am this morning. -_- Oh well, this class is about the worst for me since I'm not very good at doing homework, especially in advance. And since it's giving speeches (SPC191), the only real way to get a better grade for my speeches is to practice a lot. Kind of hard to do when you have an hour to prepare it. :)

That's probably about the worst of my bad habits but I also have a VERY short attention span these days, probably because of IRC and working at Blockbuster Video for so long. Rotting brain = bad.

Oh shit, a lot of those apply to me.

I'm left handed! Though I only write and throw things with my left hand; otherwise I'm pretty much ambidextrous.

Close friends often call me weird - I can't really say why, as I don't know!

Incidentally, just because you think you exhibit a few symptoms of a syndrome or disease, doesn't mean you have it. To put it another way, it's incredibly unlikely that two people would have exactly the same symptoms for a given condition.

Markrian, I don't "think" I have a few symptoms, I know I do. I also know that self-diagnosis is a fool's game, and never take a self-diagnosis seriously. And, since I'm capable of earning my living, I'm not sick.

There's so many symptoms I'd be more worried if one of them didn't apply to you!

me and the person who started this thread have something in comon:

I have Tourrettes Syndrome as well. It isn't a suvere case, I do not go around cursing without myself controling it, but I used to have a massive amount of ticks which ruined most of my childhood - until highchool when they finally went away.

I am also very blind and critical towards other types of music and cultures. I hate rap, will always despise it, it is like a disease to me, it's filfthy and I hope to NEVER hear it on the radio. I am also a republican, which a lot of people find wrong with me.. I personally really enjoy being in the correct political party, however ;)

Mild (untreated) OCD. Chronic Insomnia. There are actually anecdotal reports (I'm not aware of any formal studies) that certain conditions, like OCD, Aperger's Syndrome and the somewhat controversial ADD are relatively common in the technical professions. All of these conditions, in their mild iterations, represent "problems" with social interaction and concentration not inappropriate for the professions. In many cases, it is arguable that the mild forms represent normal differentiation in the populace.

Unfortunately, our culture is extremely quick to label and medicate people who deviate from the norm, even if that deviation is functional or even beneficial. (One of my OCD manifestations is compulsive checking for fire safety. Do I need to be cured of that?)
