hi,
i want to use gentoo under vmware 3.2 (host sys: winxp)
but there is folowing problem
my kernel is unable to find my sda2 (main partition running ext3)

We're going to need a little more information.
Did you build support for the BusLogic scsi controller into your kernel?
That's the one vmware emulates, and without that, it won't see the scsi drives at all.
(That's my first guess)

hmmm got another prob over here i don't know how to configure the xfree und vmware...for example
which mouse is being emulated
which graphiccard is being emulated
what display is the right one ??

Once you have Gentoo and XFree installed, install the VMWare tools. Part of the tools install is to automagically configure your X settings.

As I remember it (I did gentoo under vmware on a debian host for a while) vmware tools configures X, gets it working, and then breaks horribly - it expects rc.0 - rc.6 runlevels, and we ain't got those.
However, gentoo is perfectly happy and runs just fine.
