Hi fellow gentooists!
I bought an AMD64 yesterday and decided to install 64bit system. I downloaded AMD64 minimal livecd, burned it and booted my newly assembled PC using it. All devices were detected, I could connect to my old box, but my PPPoE connection would not work. I booted i686 setup disk, and pppoe worked OK. Does anyone have any idea concerning this issue?
I have an ASUS KV8pro mobo, and I use an old realtec NIC (using 8139too module) instead of the builtin gigabit adapter.

Thanks for your reply, lavish!

Yes. It didn't help (as it was up already).

It types a bunch of dots and then a timeout message (as if the link was down). Anyway, I've installed an 32-bit gentoo, and the rp-pppoe works ok. Could it be the kernel on the livecd that prevented rp-pppoe from working?
