I'm trying to get my new M-Audio Transit USB audio card working under Gentoo via these instructions. From what I've read it works for most people. Everything seems to go fine for me until we get to the "service usb restart" part. Gentoo doesn't have the service command and I don't really know how to get it to work anyway.
Is there a simple workaround for the Gentoo user? How do I reset the USB bus in this way so it will recognize my card with the new firmware loaded?
Thanks a bunch,

I would not expect it to be necessary, but you could try a couple of things. One, if you are running hotplug, restart it. Two, you can unload and reload the usb modules. |
