When I click the logout action, but GDM works fine. Any ideas? Anyways I'm not sure if this goes here or Desktop Environments so mods feel free to throw it wherever... _________________ "And I'm right. Mine does the same thing, it shuts down only from the GDM menu, not the Gnome panel.
I think this is because the GDM has permission to shutdown the computer but the Gnome panel does not.
I think this is the way the proggie was built.
Your 'puter does shutdown, right? |

My system is doing the same. The logout option on confirmation screen has no meaning to the system. The system always just put me on gdm logon screen.
Now (after emerge world and a new r10 kernel) the logout option is no longer availabe. It just kick me out to the gdm logon screen without even asking for confirmation.
Yeah, my P4 system (shuttle MV42N MB) never could shutdown. The system always reboot after the shutdown request or init 0. Anyone know how to fix it? My notebook seem to shutdown OK.
