Okay i am trying to get kazaalite working with wine, so far i have got everything working but when i run it as a user i get this error "WARNING: Trying to use ICMP (network ping) will fail unless running as root" and it wont connect. And when i run it as root i dont get the error but it still wont connect. Anyone have any experience with this problem and know how i can fix it? |

Edonkey is great for larger files, like movies, but if your want music, use a Gnutella client (gtk-gnutella, gnut, mutella, napshare, qutella). |

I have Kazza Lite (2.0) working under wine .. If your getting the ping messages when not running as root I think your using winex ... I could only get it to run under wine (latest ebuild). Follow the directions at frankscorner.org and make sure you put the Win98 (not 2000/xp) dll's in your system dir. That did it for me.
If you get it running but then kazza crashes when you use tyhe transfers button (ie the button to check how your downloads are doing) try starting kazza, resize the window to a slightly smaller size (you only need to do this once, each time to run kazza) and then hit transfer, and it shoud work .. (go figure...).
Cheers. _________________ My other Sig is a Regular Expression |

i've gotten both kazaa lite 1.7.2 and 2.0 to work, however, i stuck with 1.7.2 since 2.0 seemed more buggier; especially with the display.
i do see the errors with ICMP, but still am able to connect and download.
also, i'm using my own build of wine, didn't use the emerge. |

I've been trying to get it working for a long time now, with both 20020904 and 20021007 I keep getting Unable to load comdlg32.dll errors. I followed all the directions on franks corner. anyone else had this error? |
