...or so it seems. Not at console login and not in x, so, when i want to get the stuff like aliases working i have to source it by hand - is it normal? It's Gentoo 1.4_rc1 on ibook2.

Where did you put that file? I'm not 100% sure (sitting at a Windows computer ATM), but IIRC bash parses ~/.profile and /etc/profile. _________________ http://keindesign.de/stefan/ |

solved! putting /bin/bash in userentry in /etc/passwd took care of it. |
