moin leute..
ich benötige für win98 (vmware) ein programm mit dem ich eine cd auf die festplatte kopieren kann und der rechner dieses image(?!?) als cdromlaufwerk erkennt..
wie heißen solche programme, und wo gibts die?
könnt ihr mir helfen?

Wenn Du eine richtiges ISO-Abbild erstellst (wenn es sich um eine "normale" Daten-CD" handelt) kannst Du dieses Image in vmware als Quelle für das CD-Rom-Laufwerk angeben. So brauchst Du innerhalb von Vmware diese Software nicht.
Um dieses Image auch unter Linux zu mounten verwende z.B

erstellst das iso-image von der cd |

was aber nur klappt, wenn die cd nicht kopiergeschützt ist, was sonst I/O errors erzeugt.

und wenn das ganze nicht unter vmware läuft? ich meine eigentlich ein programm mit dem ich direkt das iso unter win 'mounten' kann..

Wenn dein Win98 in VMware läuft, dann lege, wie weiter oben beschrieben, mit dd unter Linux ein Image an, und in der Konfiguration deines virtuellen PC's fügst du ein weiteres DVD/CD-ROM hinzu, stellst das um auf "Use ISO Image" und wählst dort dein Image aus.
Direkt unter Win98 empfehle ich Dir Nero, welches auch ein Tool mit bringt, um Iso's als virtuelle CD ins System zu integrieren.
