bttv no workie

I've tried 2.4.19, and 2.4.19-gentoo but the bttv module wont load. I remember when I was messing around with 2.5.42 that the module did load (I don't use 2.5.x on my desktop though because the nVidia drivers doesn't work with it.) In my dmesg bttv spits this out at me:

bttv: Host bridge is Intel Corp. 440BX/ZX/DX - 82443BX/ZX/DX Host Bridge
bttv: Host bridge needs ETBF enabled.

bttv used to work for me a few months ago.... Maybe this is just a problem with 2.4.19 and I should just wait another 2 years before 2.6 comes out/nvidia supports it?
