I emerged emu10k1-audigy and everything installed fine, but when I run /usr/sbin/audigy-script, it tells me this:
Code: | SOUND_MIXER_PRIVATE3: You're probably using an older incompatible driver: Input/output error |
Why would it do this to me? _________________ Matthew Hauck

Did you insert the modules?
[code]
modprobe ac97_codec
modprobe emu10k1
[code]

Tenpin: Yes, I did insert the snd-emu10k1 module, but I didn't do the ac97_codec mdoule. However, after modprobing it, it still does not work.
maxpower: I have done everthing on that list, I tried your ebuild and your audigy-script and emu10k1.conf and is giving me the same error
Could it have something to do with digital output? I have digital speakers, and I'm trying to get digital output...maybe thats the problem... _________________ Matthew Hauck

You need the latest modules from here for that. |

Just to check you will need to have sound support in your kernel or loaded as a module and you must not have the emu10k1 kernel driver loaded.
I just use the vanilla 2.4.19 kernel like this with a basic gentoo 1.4 beta 1 install and my ebuild and the one in portage both load fine. |

kode54: Yes I did get drivers from there,
TenPin: I have sound support in my kernel. I can get the sound to come out analog wth alsa. Do you have alsa? I am beginning to think that maybe something is conflicting with alsa. It is when I run audigy-script that this error occurs. Any thoughts? _________________ Matthew Hauck

Haha I'm stupid. I was modprobing snd-emu10k1 instead of modprobing emu10k1. Thanks for the help. Now, digital WORKS!!! _________________ Matthew Hauck
