After installing Gentoo it worked fine, except that apparently I didn't compile the kernel with support for my Linksys card (the LNE100TX).
I didn't find it listed in the network cards section, so I wanted to play around with different options, to see if I could find one that works.
Anyway, after I compiled the kernel and replaced the old one with it, upon booting I received a File Not found error (after selecting the Linux partition in GRUB).
The line looks like:
kernel /boot/bzImage root=/dev/hdb3 hdc=ide-scsi
I checked (using the installation CD to boot), and the /boot/bzImage file does exist. |

IOW, did you remember to mount /boot when you copied the new bzImage to it? _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

I did mount boot before copying the file to it. |

Does /usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot/bzImage exist? If it does, what is the output of ls -al /boot? _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |
