Strange, for me it worked w/o big issues on my htpc.

The strange thing is, that without the changes in config.h, the emerge process succes... Could you help me?

Hmm I just ran make install myself and now the lirc-serial Modul is working. Thanks a lot for your help.

PS: Has anbody filed a bug for this?

I have joined the frustrated lirc users club. I have been posting on this thread: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=1862534#1862534. I explain the issues I have had and what I have done in the link above. I still do not have lirc working. I checked my config.h as you mentioned and have this in it:

Any help is greatly appreciated.
