It does from a few months ago, and I still have not determined why. I deleted ~/.gkrellm, but it does the same :(.
Anybody else have this kind of problem?

Not sure but do you have anything else running on the system? Check 'top' for this.
Or it could be the SMP problem you might have left switched on in the kernel?

I have the same problem using gkrellm 2.x on a 2 processors PC.
The gkrellm deamon takes 15% of the CPU usage.
Does anybody know if gkrellm must be compiled with specific options for multi-proc. PC? |

Yes, I'm using v2. But I had the same problem with the latest 1.x versions.
I miss my gkrellm :(

Neither of those. I've checked with top. System CPU usage is low until I start gkrellm; and SMP is disabled, cause I don't have SMP.
I wish I knew wtf is going on with gkrellm on my system :(
