The execlp() call didn't get along well with my version of bash. argv[0] needed to be "/bin/sh" instead of "sh", or it wouldn't run anything ("/usr/bin/xmms: cannot exec binary file" etc.). _________________ ---BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK---

I have the same error messages concerning Xft when I try to emerge idesk. I emerged XFree 4.2.1 then unmasked Xft 2.0 and emerged that. Phoenix compiled fine with Xft enabled. However, idesk complains about xft.h.
Any progress on figuring out how to fix this?

Never mind. Solved it by copying Xft.h from the XFree 4.2.0 sources to /usr/X11R6/include/X11/Xft/. Re-emerged idesk with no errors...Guess idesk doesn't like the Xft.h provided by the Xft package... _________________ Erich J. Wahl

I have the same problem. I didn't goto XFree 4.2.1 yet, but I have installed the masked Xft 2.0. Hmmm more research is necessary. Hopefully a solution will arise. |

Things were fixed after I copied the xfree 4.2.0 xft.h to /usr/lib/include/xft. Not sure if this broke anything else though |
