|
|
Okay, maybe I'm quitting a little easy, but attemping an install with the LiveCD 2004.1 disc, silo begins booting but then after the initial probe I get a
kernal panic: VFS: Unable t mount root fs on 01:00
error, and it stops loading.
Am I maybe doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance for any advice |

It's hard to tell from your post what might be going wrong. Since you are not getting much action here,
you might get better responses by describing your problem on the FreeNode IRC channel #gentoo-sparc.
There are usually quite a few people active or listening there, and someone should be able to help you figure out
what is happening with your system.
Sorry for not having an answer, but I hope this suggests a way to proceed.
Regards,

I would have assumed that this problem was fixed by now but 2004.1 was causing this error a month or so back .... I had the exact same problem on my Ultra60, so I just downloaded the 2004.0 image and went from there. Of course once you do this use the 2004.1 stage tarballs as they will be more up to date. This is the approach I took. If you want more details from the original postings of this problem look back to this thread: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=167104 I hope that helps you out. |
