By comparing the contained md5sum with the md5sum of a file?
Sorry, I'm not really good at that, but maybe something like
Code: | $ echo $(awk '{print $2}' /usr/portage/app-games/crafty/files/digest-crafty-18.15-r2)
fe27ed1408f6a44918628c16f9441f03
$ echo $(md5sum /usr/portage/distfiles/crafty-18.15.tar.gz)|awk '{print $1}'
