I have recently built an amd64 computer and put gentoo on it. I am going to try and go into a lot of detail to make it a bit easier for anyone willing to help. Anyway, the first time I installed gentoo, I followed the alsa guide to try and get my sound working. At this point I was using the onboard sound on my motherboard (Asus K8V SE Deluxe). I got it working to a point in which the front two speakers and the sub worked, but the center and rears didn't. Anyway I decided to rebuild the system to change a few things. Before I did though, I took the sound card out of my other computer (which is a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz). I loaded the cs drivers or whatever into the kernel and everything is alright in there from my understanding. Now, I still have the same problem where I only have sound coming from the front (left and right) speakers, and the sub, but none coming from the center, and rear speakers. I was wondering how I can get it to work. Thanks a lot! |
