OpenGL Problems

When I run games such as Quake 3 Arena or Diablo II, the screen is just blank. There aren't any errors or anything, and I can hear the sound so I know the game started up just fine. I try running glxgears, and it shows the FPS, but it doesn't show the gears turning like it's supposed to. It just comes up blank. So I tried commenting out the DRI line in the XF86Config, and when I started a game up, it worked! I could see everything, with only one exception. It ran really slow. So I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I can start games fine with DRI enabled, but I can't see anything, I disable DRI and I can see them just fine, but it runs slow. I'm using a Radeon 7200. If anyone has any help I'd really appreciate it.
