Quake 3 version 1.32 was just released, how fast can someone write an ebuild
ftp://www.idsoftware.com/idstuff/quake3/linux/
it hasn't hit any news sites yet, so there are no mirror lists :/ _________________ It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue. |

to bad ogc 1.9 was released right after point release and it works.. there is a demo flying around enterthegame.com(irc) with people using it.

pb is supposed to have an autoupdate feature.
I look forward to seeing people kicked from the server in the middle of a game for using ogc ^^ |

Actually from what I've heard 1.9 is 1.8 renamed. Offer 1.8 as 1.9 and watch the cheater(s) get banned. |

|
|
As a casual RA3 player, I was really anticipating this PR and the resulting dissappearance of cheaters. I was really dissappointed when I installed the point release and tried to connect to a server, only to have quake freeze.
Further testing showed just how terrible the situation was. My fps (which had been ~35 in 1.31) now skip back and forth between 5 and 35. Obviously this is unplayable; it is a slideshow!
Sys specs:
pIII 650
128mb RAM
ati rage mobility-p 8mb
gentoo 1.4
Any insight would be greatly appreciated! |

I didn't notice any loss of performance on my comp.
It's not gonna help you, but you're advised to have 125FPs in quake3, in order to perform various jumps etc.
So, 35FPs is a little low anyway. You may want to try to vertex lightning, 16 bit colors, geometrical detail set to low, trilinear filtering off, 640x480, cg_shadows 0, forcemodel on, low sound quality etc. etc. to have more FPS. |

That was before this point release was out. This point release haves sub-frame input. No more input-framerate connection. _________________ IM me at tuxisuau@jabber.7a69ezine.org |

Well I'm trying to dl the pointrelease right now. I'm gonna submit a new ebuild soon. Shouldn't be too different from the 1.31 and by now I should know how to make the right permission I hope :P |

Yeah it does. I've been playing RA3 just fine with the patch. Do you get any output that tells you why it won't work on your machine? |
