bright colors in rxvt

hi all,
this might me a bit lame, but has anyone tried getting bright colors for rxvt. i managed to get colors working but they r quite dull. i want to have a black background and white foreground with bright color coding for directories, exec files etc.
i have checked the man pages and faq for rxvt but found nothing,
