Ho emerso openoffice però ci mette una vita a compilarlo
è possibile che debba specificare qualche flag particolare?

No e' normalissimo che ci metta cosi' tanto. Se vuoi puoi mettere il binario in italiano seguendo questo post.

Mi avete spaventato 8 ore con un 2.4 io col mio portatile con 1.6 ce ne metterò 14 15 ho pensato di rinunciare !!!
Avete da consigliarmi qualcosa di molto + leggero per file excel e word?
Oppure come faccio ad installare un precompilato -se è possibile ?

Scusa ma mi sono letto il messaggio del link e nn ho capito come installare il precompilato
abbi pazienza ma stai parlando con un principiante potresti se nn è troppo disturbo dirmi quì come fare?

Rinomina l'ebuild di openoffice-bin-1.1.1.ebuild in openoffice-bin-it-1.1.1.ebuild e mettilo in /usr/local/portage/app-office/openoffice-bin-it

e poi

PS: magari vai anche a scaricarti il binario direttamente dal sito e mettilo in /usr/portage/distfiles
