Don't think I changed anything, but XMMS will no longer play my mp3 play list. It _was_ working fine.
I load my play list, then press the play button, but the play button remains depressed and the app locks up. I also have to kill the app via control-alt-escape. Maybe once in every 20 attemps to start it up, if I leave it there for 5 or 10 minutes, it will start playback.
I am able to use noaturn to play the same music without any problems, and like I said, xmms was working just a few days ago. I even tried re-emerging it.
The mp3s are stored on a vfat partition shared between linux and xp (I'd love to get rid of XP, but winex can't handle most of the games I play.) _________________ Stupid bug, you go squish now!

Are you using xmms in KDE ?
KDE has it's own soundserver(artsd), If you use KDE go to the options of xmms and change the output driver in arts. |

Or you can still use the OSS output driver, but invoke xmms with artsdsp xmms. Which does some magic and your stuff will work;.)
I think this is due to arts hogging the oss output and when another program tries to use oss, it cannot because of arts -> kab00m |
